Credera Promotes Seema Desai to Partner

Credera, a global, boutique consulting firm focused on strategy, innovation, data, and technology, is pleased to announce the promotion of Seema Desai to Credera’s partner team.

Seema Desai joined the firm as a manager in the Management Consulting Practice in 2015, and currently leads Credera Health, overseeing the firm’s healthcare capabilities and clients. She is also active internally, leading and serving as the executive sponsor of the Credera Women’s Network and as a member of Credera's Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee.  

Seema has 15 years of management, technology, and operations experience across various industries, including healthcare, entertainment, manufacturing, and consumer products. Her areas of focus include project management, market analysis, organizational and process design, business strategy, and people management. She holds a master’s degree in business administration from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University and a bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering and economics from Northwestern University.

Outside of the office, Seema enjoys cooking, traveling, spending time with family and friends, and anything to do with dance! 

We sat down with Seema to learn more about her journey toward joining the Credera partner team.

Q&A With Seema Desai:

What are you focusing on at Credera?

My primary focus is leading and growing Credera Health, the firm’s healthcare capabilities and clients. I’m also the lead and executive sponsor of Credera Women’s Network. In this capacity, I help build and promote a community within the firm focused on recruiting, educating, developing, and connecting the women of Credera.

What were you doing prior to joining Credera? What led to your decision to join originally? 

Prior to joining Credera, I was a cardiology manager at NorthShore University Health System and a consultant at Diamond Management and Technology Consultants.

During the interview process with Credera, I was immediately drawn to the culture and people of our firm. The interviews didn’t feel like standard interviews, but rather great conversations with inspiring individuals. I couldn’t wait to work with and alongside these leaders and be part of the firm’s unique culture.

How would you describe your approach to leadership? 

My leadership style is collaborative and centers around trust and empowerment.

Trust: I start by building a strong foundation of trust, both with and from others (it doesn’t work if it’s one sided).

Empowerment: Empowering others is the fastest mechanism to drive individual growth. With that in mind, I’m focused on fostering an environment in which others are consistently encouraged, supported, and stretched.

What’s the most important lesson you’ve learned in your career so far? 

Always surround yourself with those who challenge you—both in your personal and professional life. By doing so, you’ll continuously learn, evolve, and grow. The alternative might be easier, but far less rewarding.

What are you most excited about now that you’re part of the Credera partner team?

Collaborating with the rest of the partner team to continue growing Credera’s team, culture, capabilities, and global footprint.
