Meet our intern: Mehak Qureshi

In August 2021, we welcomed our first cohort of interns to Credera's UK offices. We caught up with intern Mehak Qureshi to learn about her experience of working with us.

Tell us a little bit about your background. What were you doing before starting your internship with Credera?

I am currently an undergraduate student at Goldsmiths University, studying a Digital Arts Computing degree. Prior to starting my internship with Credera, I had just completed my first year of university.

What made you decide to apply for an internship with Credera?

I was looking to explore different business areas to get a better idea of where I would want to be after completing my studies. I believed that Credera would be the right place to do this as the company offers a wide variety of services and would allow me to explore a range of different business areas. I was also drawn by the company’s culture and its friendly employees. Being in an environment like Credera’s would allow me to develop my knowledge and learn new skills in a shorter amount of time.

What most excites you about your internship with us?

I have really enjoyed being a part of the catch-up calls with members of Credera’s various departments. The conversations gave me a better idea of the current projects that the company is working on, and I also learnt more about how Credera operates. Similarly, I really enjoyed my coffee catchups with people in the office too! I got the opportunity to have a number of conversations that I have found really beneficial and was able to get to know people on a more personal level.

What do you think was your most significant accomplishment whilst working at Credera?

My most significant accomplishment whilst working at Credera was rebranding the Sales Playbook. The task gave me the opportunity to practice working at a fast pace whilst maintaining a high standard of work. I also enjoyed helping to redesign some of the slides and diagrams, as this allowed me to exercise my creativity. Following completion of the playbook, I was given the chance to do a presentation for the Sales team – an experience that I found really valuable. Although this project was a challenge, I was proud of what I had accomplished in just two weeks.

What are your goals for the future?

At the moment, I would say that I am not completely certain. However, interning with Credera has given me a much better overview of the way that different departments operate and the job roles that I could potentially consider in the near future. I will most likely aim to gain more experience before completing my degree to create more opportunities for myself and to help me decide where I would most enjoy working.

In your own words, how would you describe Credera’s culture?

Credera has a people-focused culture. On the first day of my internship with the company, I remember receiving endless emails from employees introducing themselves – something that made me feel really welcome. As an intern, it meant a lot to me that I was in a friendly environment where people were showing a real interest in having conversations with me.

How would you describe your overall experience of interning with Credera?

This experience has been very valuable for me as I have met so many friendly and welcoming people. I have also had the opportunity to work with highly experienced individuals and this has given me a better insight of a real working environment. During my time with Credera, I have managed to learn a lot about the different departments and this will be really beneficial in helping me to shape my future career plans.
