Credera helped a leading UK bank scale their AI and data analytics, focusing on cloud, policy, and regulatory compliance. Through design and delivery of a self-service developer platform, Credera enabled the bank to deliver repeatable Golden path templates. This gave users the ability to deploy AI environments built on strict guardrails, reducing deployment times from ~77 days to 30 minutes.

A leading UK bank faced challenges in scaling AI workloads and associated developer environments, production deployments, and data analytics due to limited cloud capability and restrictive policies. Credera closely collaborated with their teams and third parties to design and deliver a streamlined solution; enabling scalable, self-serve AI development, analytics, and other advanced technologies. These were underpinned by the latest GPUs/TPUs – enabling rapid training and development of the latest AI models.

The bank was constrained deploying AI workloads as their cloud platforms lacked the necessary tools and automation to deploy AI and data analytics capabilities at scale in a highly secure and regulated way. Policy-related challenges also prevented the bank from fully utilising Google Cloud Platform’s native features, requiring a review and update of existing policies to support cloud analytics adoption.
The Solution
Streamlining data science and analytics workflows.
Credera’s team collaborated with the bank’s engineering and AI user groups across different parts of the business, understanding and building common non-functional AI requirements and use cases. New models were required to asses risk, derive trends from complex data, and enable users to define new models for future use cases. Golden path templates were developed for data science and analytics products, including provisioning, data discovery, engineering, modelling, publishing, and monitoring. These templates built best security practices into the foundations of new applications, enabled self-service deployment, and promoted inner sourcing through an easy to access catalogue of golden path templates. Multiple user personas were considered from the start, such as data scientists, ML engineers, BI analysts, and key business users – enabling all users across the bank to increase their productivity.

We designed and delivered scalable, self-serve analytics, unlocking advanced GPU and TPU infrastructure to enable rapid model training, development, and testing. By building these capabilities on the strong foundations of golden path templates and guardrails, we enabled self-service deployment of complex environments and reduced AI environment setup from ~77 days to 30 minutes. This greatly improved data access, analysis, and overall capabilities, driving valuable insights and innovation as a result.This led to an enhanced ability to explore unstructured data and test new models efficiently.
