Why Millennial Engagement Matters

Credera is thrilled to be included in Fortune’s 2016 Best Workplaces for Millennials. We are so thankful that millennials believe Credera is an environment where they can thrive. At Credera 67% of our employees are millennials, and they have played a critical role in the success of our clients and our firm. In our experience, we have found that millennials often times bring a fresh and helpful perspective.

Millennials view cognitive diversity and the inclusion of individual viewpoints as a necessary element for innovation and growth. In comparison to previous generations, they are 29% more likely to focus on ideas and opinions in the workplace.

Compared to non-millennials, they are 28% more likely to focus on the business impact of inclusion, 71% more likely to focus on teamwork, and 22% more likely to focus on the culture of connection. Millennials report higher levels of empowerment and authenticity when operating in an inclusive culture. For example, 83% of millennials are actively engaged when they believe the organization fosters an inclusive culture, while only 60% of millennials are actively engaged when they believe the organization does not.

According to Fortune, the 100 Best Workplaces for Millennials stand out for their ability to engage this generation, recognize their talents, and give them a significant role where they can make a difference. At these companies, pay, profit sharing, and promotion decisions are executed fairly. Everyone gets a shot at special recognition, and workers have a say in decisions that affect them. These workplaces exhibit open, two-way communication, a high tolerance for risk-taking, high levels of cooperation and support among employees, and reduced roadblocks to innovation such as internal politics.

At Credera millennials have a strong influence on the way we view teamwork and value the contributions of each team member. Diversity of thought on our project teams is of the upmost importance because it encourages less groupthink and more original ideation. As we practice inclusion amongst our employees, our project teams are inspired to create unique solutions that lead to extraordinary results for our clients. This is one of many reasons we are grateful for our millennial employees and all that they bring to the Credera team!
