Have you caught up on the latest features from the Summer '25 release of Salesforce yet? In June 2025, our guest host Keir Bowden provided a thorough overview of the new updates and features in our regular Salesforce release webinar. Covering everything from improved navigation to exciting enhancements in Agentforce, this blog post recaps the key points you need to know!
Features being retired in the Summer '25 release
As is always the case, several features will be retired in this release, including:
Decision optimisation in Einstein Discovery beta feature.
API Versions 21 through 30 (this update has been publicised for a while, so make sure your integrations are updated).
Activity 360 reporting, Activity Metrics, Activity Analytics dashboard and legacy chat (Salesforce recommends you transition to alternative solutions).
Salesforce for Outlook will retire in December 2027.
General Salesforce update highlights
This release introduces a new discovery and setup hub, Salesforce Go, allowing for easier navigation and setup of features. You can now access one guided workspace to evaluate and set up available features without the hassle of navigating multiple pages. This is a significant step towards improving user adoption and experience.
Analytics update
Agentforce now integrates seamlessly with Tableau and Data Cloud, providing a consistent data model for users and agents alike.
You can now refresh individual dashboard components instead of the entire dashboard.
CRM Analytics has introduced new and updated features like configurable widgets and custom headers.
AgentExchange marketplace
You can now explore and access a variety of solutions related to Agentforce in the new AgentExchange marketplace. Adding topics or actions when configuring an agent—with an option to add them from AgentExchange—has also become more intuitive, streamlining the process significantly.
Development updates
The Lightning Base Components documentation contains more guidance on usage and the benefits of using the components to customise your apps
The internal DOM structure is changing. Expect tests relying on internal structure to be impacted
There’s enhanced support for debugging during metadata deployments, which provides greater visibility into deployment failures
Apex can now evaluate dynamic formulas in template mode, allowing you to use merge field syntax
Mobile updates
The mobile app now supports offline access to associated files and record attachments, improving user functionality when working remotely. This makes it easier to access your records without needing constant internet access.
Cloud updates
Experience Cloud
Experience Cloud has introduced custom data spaces, allowing for better data segregation and management, and the new Record List component helps you view and manage records more effectively.
Marketing Cloud
Access custom URL activity information from Data Cloud: Formerly known as Pardot, Marketing Cloud Account Engagement (MCAE) can access more detailed activity information for nuanced segmentation.
Dynamic personalisation: Expanded capability to recommend products and services tailored to the audience.
You can now collect consent data in Marketing Cloud using flows and update consent information for unified individuals.
Marketers can now track and report on custom links to external websites, providing better insights into campaign performance.
Improved deliverability and performance dashboards allow marketers to monitor:
Email (and understand failed email reasons)
SMS
WhatsApp
Tracked links and landing page performance
Top and bottom performing campaigns
Sales Cloud
Agentforce Sales Development Representative (SDR) can now automatically reach out to contacts and person accounts, as well as leads.
Improved email integration with Einstein Activity Capture, allowing you to sync emails as activity data, ensuring accurate record associations and compliance with company policies.
Service Cloud
Service Cloud introduces new features for Agentforce, including support for employee self-service and enhancements to case management.
Agentforce Service Assistant (formerly known as Service Planner) provides real-time summaries and guidance, improving case resolution efficiency.
You can now gather feedback on your Knowledge articles and assign feedback responses to users, with the first 30,000 incurring no charge.
Beta features to watch
Several exciting beta features are on the horizon, including:
Personalised Trust Site allows you to see information tailored to your specific Salesforce service. This feature currently supports Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, and Marketing Cloud Account Engagement in production environments. If you prefer the traditional Trust site experience, it will still be available.
Agentforce can now generate draft text for Lightning Web Runtime sites. To use this feature, enable Agentforce in the Experience Builder and create your agent using the provided template. You can define your brand's details and tone, and the system will help you generate text that you can refine further.
Get Records component can now pull related records in one go, eliminating the need for additional queries.
Improved Agent Action user interface is in the developer preview rather than in beta, which means you can access it in very few places like Developer Edition and Scratch orgs. It allows users to display Agentforce query results using custom Lightning Web components. This change promises a richer user experience, transforming previously simple data lists into well-formatted cards with actionable elements.
Note that these features are currently in beta, meaning there is no guarantee they will be released in their current form or at all.
