Morgan Eseke

Credera is pleased to announce the addition of Derek Knudsen to our company’s leadership team. Derek joined the firm on March 21st, 2016 as Partner and Vice President in the Denver office.

Derek’s background includes 20 years of service with Avanade and Accenture where he held roles such as General Manager, Vice President of Growth and Strategy, and Chief Technology Officer. Derek brings strategic analysis and design experience in areas such as go-to-markets (services and solutions), technology and innovation, geographic expansion, channel construction and expansion, as well as operational efficiency.

“We are excited Derek has joined our Credera family as Vice President and Partner in Denver,” says Rob Borrego, President and CEO, Credera. “Derek’s unique strategy and growth experience, deep technical expertise, leadership skills and high moral character will be instrumental to the success and growth of Credera’s Denver office.”

Derek is passionate about his family, the Seahawks and endurance sports. Prior to moving to Denver, Derek lived in Idaho, Arizona, Seattle and Southern California.

Here is a brief interview to learn a little more information about Credera’s newest Partner.

What attracted you to Credera?

As I did my due diligence prior to accepting the role at Credera, I was absolutely blown away. I consistently heard positive things about the company from my network in Denver and Dallas, and was impressed by the outpouring of praise I saw on Glassdoor. That level of employee satisfaction is something I have not seen in any industry let alone the consulting industry, which can have a reputation for work/life imbalance. It’s just outstanding.

Values alignment is hyper-important to me as well. It was critical for me to find a company whose values matched mine and those of my family, so there is no artificial transition from when I’m at work to when I’m at home. The strong conviction the people at Credera have to their core values is, again, rare and, I believe, one of the reasons they have been so successful.

What about joining Credera makes you most excited?

I am excited about the opportunity to work with really bright people who are passionate about what they do. It’s evident that the people at Credera genuinely apply their personal values to what they do professionally. That’s immensely important to me.

I’ve had the opportunity to open or transform multiple markets in my career and I enjoy the challenge greatly. With the outstanding quality and skill of the people in not only Credera’s Denver office but the company in general as well as the great support from the leadership team I don’t think I’ve ever been so well equipped to be successful. It is rare to walk into a new company with leaders who are just as passionate about the same things you are, but that’s exactly what I’ve experienced with Credera.

You seem to have a great perspective; can you tell us a little more about that?

My mom was diagnosed with cancer and passed last October. Life events like that make you reconsider what is really important, like living by your values and not settling. This is what makes Credera such a good fit. The family-oriented focus of the leadership team, paired with an insatiable drive to be excellent while still holding fast to values like integrity and humility, it’s exactly the kind of team I want to be apart of long term.
