Credera, a global, boutique consulting firm focused on strategy, innovation, data, and technology, is pleased to announce the promotion of Greg Athas to Credera’s partner team.
“I’m pleased to welcome Greg Athas to the partner team,” said Global CEO Justin Bell. “Greg has demonstrated consistent excellence on his accounts and is one of our strongest technology leaders. Greg brings valuable relevant industry experience and technology leadership to the partner team and I’m excited to see the impact he’ll continue to have.”
Greg joined Credera in 2020 to help establish our Chicago office and has over 25 years of experience delivering cloud and embedded solutions across a spectrum of industries. He focuses on strategic client delivery and go-to-market strategy for cloud and engineering. His areas of concentration are edge computing, internal developer platforms, and socio-technical architecture.
Prior to Credera, he was chief architect at BMW Technology Corporation where he was responsible for building intelligent digital services that connect drivers with their vehicles, smart phones, and dealerships. He previously worked at Microsoft, Nokia, as well as multiple startups including Novarra, where he led creation of mobile technologies instrumental to acquisition by Nokia. Greg holds 14 technology patents including web browsing, distributed computing, machine learning, and nanotechnology.
Greg graduated from Boston University with a doctorate in solid state physics and the University of Notre Dame with a bachelor’s degree in physics. Outside of the office, Greg, his wife Heidi, and their four boys enjoy exploring the globe with bikes, boots, and fins.
Q&A With Greg Athas:
What is your focus at Credera?
Client delivery, helping grow our Chicago office, and leading our go-to-market strategy for Credera’s cloud and engineering service area.
How would you describe your approach to leadership?
I start by establishing the “why” and “what” of a project, so outcomes and goals are clear across the team. I then ensure my team is supported through empowerment, trust, and hands-on coaching.
What’s the most important lesson you’ve learned in your career so far?
I came from a highly technical background, and it has become very clear to me that technology alone is insufficient to solve most problems. Technology is only a tool, and you need to weigh its value as an amplifier of the capabilities of your client and teams as well as how it can bring delight and remove friction from customers’ lives.
What are you most excited about now that you’re a part of the Credera team?
I’m always looking for opportunities to improve my knowledge and Credera has amazing talent across all levels of experience. I’m eager to learn from my colleagues as well as share my experiences as we solve complex customer challenges.
