Credera, a global, boutique consulting firm focused on strategy, innovation, data, and technology, is pleased to announce the promotion of Eric McConnell to Credera’s partner team.

Eric joined Credera’s Management Consulting Practice in 2021. He is focused on client success while also leading business development and account management for the Dallas market. Throughout his career, Eric has worked with Fortune 500 and mid-market clients across numerous industries including oil and gas, healthcare, consumer goods and services, industrial and manufacturing, telecommunications, transportation and logistics, and not-for-profit. He is also on the Campus Recruiting Steering Committee, overseeing Credera’s engagement with the University of Oklahoma State and the University of Texas at Dallas.
Eric has over 21 years of management and technology consulting experience, with a focus on program and project leadership, operations excellence, organizational change management, and strategy. Prior to joining Credera, Eric worked in the intelligent automation software industry at WorkFusion as a director of automation consulting. He started his consulting career at Accenture and also spent time at Sendero.
Eric graduated from Oklahoma State University with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration in marketing. Outside of the office, he is the current board president of Chase’s Place, a nonprofit special needs school in Dallas, and loves golf, running, travel, all things OSU sports, and spending time with his wife Julie and his son Oliver.
We sat down with Eric to learn more about his journey toward joining the Credera partner team.
Q&A With Eric McConnell:
What are you focusing on now that you’re a partner at Credera?
I’m excited to spend my time on the Dallas market leadership team with a focus on clients, both existing and new, OSU campus recruiting, and client delivery and account management best practices.
What were you doing prior to joining Credera?
Before Credera, I was the director of automation consulting for WorkFusion, the leading provider of intelligent automation solutions for Fortune 500 enterprises, banks, insurance, and financial services companies. I consider myself a life-long consultant though, with a background at Accenture and Sendero.
What led to your decision to join originally?
I was first introduced to Credera and specifically Andrew Warden in the fall of 2012. Unfortunately, I was not hired at that time, but I had the opportunity to watch Credera grow into the organization we are today while forming a great friendship and bond with Andrew and others. As my career and the leadership team at Credera developed, 2021 was the perfect time to join such an amazing organization.
How would you describe your approach to leadership?
A combination of servant and coach leadership styles for both our people and our clients. With a people-first mentality, I try to always treat each person with value and care by being kind with my words and actions, seeking understanding, so that everyone is authentically known. In addition, I try to lead by example with a constant bias for action—focused on driving a project from strategy to successful completion. I work with my teams to address obstacles head-on with grit, curiosity, and a deep drive to make an impact.
What’s the most important lesson you’ve learned in your careers so far?
When trying to solve a problem or provide the greatest impact, it is much more effective to gather the right team around me than to try and resolve the issue on my own. There is no shame in raising your hand for help or starting a client conversation with ‘I’m not sure,’ or ‘That’s something I don’t know.’ If you have the willingness and commitment to get help or find options to resolve the issue, it will always lead to positive outcomes.
What are you most excited about now that you’re a part of the Credera partner team?
I am most excited about having the opportunity to continue enhancing and growing our culture, our people, our clients, and our communities by providing impact in every interaction and encounter that comes my way. It has always been a professional goal of mine to make partner at a consulting firm and knowing that Credera is where I get to achieve this goal is a dream come true.
