Amanda joined the firm in 2015 as a consultant in the Analytics & Business Intelligence Practice and made the transition to management consulting in 2020. She became the Denver lead in 2021 and is committed to the vision of weaving a close-knit, local culture into a broader Credera fabric.
Her delivery expertise is in building high-performing teams to solve complex problems through the integration of business process improvement and technical execution. Her technical background makes her uniquely positioned to lead large-scale, technical programs for our clients. Amanda represents Credera as an alum of the Omnicom Growth Partners 2020-2021 class focused on bringing cross-agency, customer-centric solutions to market.
Amanda and her partner, Marc, have three boys, Owen, Cole, and Christian, with whom they hope to share their love of travel and the outdoors. A veteran Crossfit Games athlete, she still finds her solace in the garage gym working out before the world (and her three under three circus) is awake. The Daily Stoic sits on her nightstand, and her current go-to podcast is Huberman Labs, which explores the neuroscience of human performance.
We sat down with Amanda to learn more about her journey toward joining the Credera partner team.
Q&A With Amanda Leachman:
What are you focusing on at Credera?
I have two primary focuses: leading the Denver market and leading key, strategic client accounts.
What were you doing prior to joining Credera?
I joined Credera as a level one consultant, so most of my career has been within our firm. That said, the years before joining Credera were preceded with one year backpacking Europe and three years as an intermodal engineer for JB Hunt.
What led to your decision to join originally?
When I decided to move to Denver for personal reasons, I found Credera on Glassdoor and was struck by the overwhelming number of deeply positive reviews. This sparked my original interest, and once I made contact with a recruiter and started the interview process, I knew this is where I wanted to be. Andrew Stewart and Scott Covington were the ones who hired me just over eight years ago. I knew nothing about consulting at the time but knew I wanted to be somewhere where the pace was fast but the people authentic. My experience has far exceeded those expectations.
How would you describe your approach to leadership?
I’m not sure I’ve ever put this into words, but I’ve spent quite a bit of time thinking about it since I first read the question. I would say there are three key components of my approach to leadership:
Let your actions speak louder than your words.
Build trust through clear but kind messaging.
Above all else, be present.
What’s the most important lesson you’ve learned in your career so far?
Strong leadership doesn’t always look like driving from the front, carrying the torch, and taking the bullets. Strong leadership is being aware of what each individual team needs at a particular time and tweaking your approach to amplify their growth or success. Strong leadership is often leading alongside or behind those in your fold.
What are you most excited about when you think about being a part of the Credera team?
Credera has given me so much over the last eight years. Mentorship, opportunity, and space to have and care for my children—to name a few. I’m excited to be part of the team that helps us to continue to scale to provide those same opportunities to many others.
