Building, belonging, and bold ideas: Inside Credera's inaugural Women in Tech Conference

At Credera, our commitment to fostering women in STEM is more than a statement. It's a blueprint for how we build teams, solve problems, and lead. We've built a culture where women aren't just welcomed into technical roles; they're celebrated as leaders and collaborators. When women feel supported and valued, they drive extraordinary innovation.
That spirit came to life at our inaugural Women in Tech conference in Dallas, hosted by employee resource group (ERG) co-leaders and Senior Architects Rachel Slayter and Chelsea Cline. Born from an anonymous suggestion on a sticky note during an ERG Town Hall, the idea for an internal Women in Tech conference took flight, drawing more than 40 women from seven Credera offices and across career levels from analyst to partner.
About the conference
The event featured internal and external speakers, listening sessions, and hands-on hackathon time. Over two days, participants dove into a hands-on artificial intelligence (AI) prototyping workshop designed to turn ideas into action. Teams built over 15 AI prototypes from Credera's internal backlog and delivered live demos, many in just two to three hours of working time. Prototypes tackled real challenges like automating case study generation, streamlining and mitigating bias in our internal Career Performance Management process, and making expense submissions more efficient.
It culminated in a show-and-tell where 18 women from nine different groups demonstrated prototypes to an audience that included 15 partners. The energy was palpable.
"One of the really great things about this conference was seeing how far we've come,” said Cline. “Having a room full of talented women gathered together to learn, connect, and build really awesome stuff together and then showcasing them to a packed conference center—it is honestly one of my highlights of my entire time at Credera."
With over 11 years at Credera, Cline’s statement carries real weight.
"We're at an exciting inflection point," said Credera Partner Gail Stout Perry. "AI has leveled the playing field for women in tech."
That leveling effect was evident in the diversity of roles represented: tech solutions, design, management, and consulting. Participants learned a rapid prototyping framework that emphasizes iteration and tight feedback loops to validate concepts quickly, enabling teams to move from rough ideas to tangible solutions faster than ever before.

Three pillars of Women in Tech at Credera
The conference was built intentionally around three core pillars that define our Women in Tech community: connection, empowerment, and growth
1. Connection bridges the isolation that talented women often experience across locations and practices, creating spaces where they can see themselves in peers and build lasting relationships.
2. Empowerment moves beyond inspiration to action, giving women the tools, platforms, and confidence to lead and innovate whether that's building prototypes or showcasing ideas to leadership.
3. Growth ensures everyone leaves with tangible skills and frameworks they can apply to their work long after the conference ends.
Together, these pillars create a sustainable community, not just a one-time event.
Building connections
"The event was amazing and so insightful!” said one participant. “I had a great time scaling up my AI prototyping and general AI skills through the workshop. It was incredible being in the room with so many passionate and intelligent women sharing their ideas and personalities with everyone in an open and honest environment."
These connections matter, especially across locations and practices that often keep talented women scattered and isolated.
Credera's Women in Tech conference is just the beginning. We're scaling a community where women lead, build, and shape the future together.
