Aviall and Credera’s Partnership Leads to Online Success

Aviall, a subsidiary of Boeing, is the leader in aftermarket parts for the aviation industry. Aviall sells its parts via distributed field sales, customer service teams,   through Electronic Data Interchange (EDI), web services and its online channel, www.aviall.com.

Charlie Elkins, Aviall’s Senior Managing Director of Marketing notes in this video that Aviall sells more than 2 million airline parts for every kind of airplane and helicopter from Piper Aircraft to Boeing 787 Dreamliners. Boeing bought Aviall in 2006, and continues to successfully operate as its own brand today.

Aviall’s Growth Brought Great Opportunities and Online Challenges

“[Aviall] had a big opportunity that they knew and understood,” said Justin Bell, Vice President, Credera. “But they had different ideas from all the different stakeholders on the right way to invest and the best way to move forward.”

Aviall engaged Credera to maximize its online presence by defining a clear eCommerce vision, strategy and roadmap.

“One of the first things we did to help them was to solicit feedback from all of the stakeholders, sometimes individually and sometimes in larger group meetings. We then summarized and boiled that down and presented it back in a way they can see where the biggest return would come from,” said Bell.

Credera’s strategic approach led to a series of quick-win initiatives Credera then helped Aviall execute.

Great Things Happen When Great People Work Together

“We had experiences with consultants in the past where their recommendation would give them the most work,” said Elkins. “We didn’t see that at all with Credera. We saw a company that was very focused on understanding what we were trying to do and helping us do that.”

“I see [Credera] as people that genuinely want us to be successful,” expressed Elkins.

Bell expressed how much Credera enjoyed working with Aviall’s very talented team.

“It has been so fun to sit around the table with Aviall’s very, very talented team who knows their business inside and out,” said Bell. “[We] brings our expertise and knowledge, and really partner closely with them to understand the right thing for Aviall to do, as they grow their online business.”
