Q&A with Aparna Raman
What were you doing prior to joining Credera?
I have been fortunate to have a multitude of experiences spanning diverse business settings. At Apple, I managed global operations, led the 2013 iPhone launch and managed key APAC reseller partnerships for all strategic products. I led customer-centered innovation at General Motors, shaping the connected car roadmap to meet the digital needs of consumers in the most delightful and innovative ways. On the Strategy + Innovation team, tasked with transforming GM from a traditional automaker to a technology-driven company delivering next-generation personal mobility, I identified growth opportunities and incubated new businesses to expand on GM’s core. Most recently, I led product management at Capital One, reimagining the future of financial services and building innovation muscle across the organization.
What led to your decision to join?
I have been a friend of the firm for several years, and have been impressed by the energy, passion, and culture of the people in the company. Working with people I admire and helping the company grow in the innovation space was an irresistible opportunity.
How would you describe your approach to leadership?
Know your teammates, understand their priorities, and inspire them to dream, stretch, and achieve.
This quote from Peter Drucker says it best: “Leadership is lifting a person's vision to higher sights, the raising of a person's performance to a higher standard, the building of a personality beyond its normal limitations.”
What’s the most important lesson you’ve learned in your career so far?
Stay curious and be a lifelong learner.
What are you most excited about now that you’re a part of the Credera team?
I am excited about the potential to impact a broad range of clients and work closely with fellow Crederians at this incredible time in the company’s journey.
