Ajay Dattanarayana Joins Credera as a Partner in the Dallas Office

Credera, a global, boutique consulting firm focused on strategy, transformation, data, and technology, is pleased to announce the addition of Ajay Dattanarayana to Credera’s partner team.

Ajay holds a bachelor’s degree in computer science from BDT College of Engineering. He has an extensive background in the media and entertainment industry specifically around AdTech, linear and digital advertising, streaming and media supply chain. Prior to Credera, he was a business leader at LTI where he led a large portfolio of strategic relationships. Before LTI, Ajay was in a leadership role at an AdTech startup where he helped the team lay the foundation for their product engineering group and successfully delivered two generations of products. Ajay brings previous hands-on experience running large initiatives with globally distributed teams.

Outside of work, Ajay is an avid traveler, a book enthusiast, a struggling violinist, and a keen follower of cricket.

We sat down with Ajay to learn more about his journey toward joining the Credera partner team.

Q&A With Ajay Dattanarayana:

What are you focusing on at Credera?

My initial focus is to define, design, and ultimately bring to life Credera’s vision to have a global build initiative, but I will also help Credera as an organization to continue to scale globally.

What led to your decision to join Credera?

There were several things that led to my decision. I had previously worked with one of the partners at Credera and she had a lot of great things to say about the culture and the passion of the organization. As I began having discussions with other leaders at Credera, it was evident that the messaging around their core values, culture, and people first approach was consistent with what I experienced from these individuals, and it truly resonated with my core beliefs.

Also, the conversations with the leadership around growth and the type of organization they wanted to build was exciting. The Credera I saw was at an inflection point ready to take off to the moon, and I wanted to be part of this journey to build something great.

How would you describe your approach to leadership?

The core of my leadership belief is built around inclusiveness, integrity, trust, and practicing what I preach. I believe in investing significant amounts of time in developing my team by mentoring and creating new leaders. I aim to operate at the highest levels of integrity and trust and to lead by example. I roll my sleeves up and get down in the trenches to do the heavy lifting with my team. A true leader has their teams’ back and creates a culture of inquisitiveness, creativity, and experimentation.

What's the most important lesson you've learned in your career so far?

There are several. To name a few:

1. If you fail to plan, you plan to fail.

2. Success is infectious; make sure to celebrate it. It will soon become a habit.

3. Have a beginner’s mind; be open to learn.

4. Practice empathy and compassion—it will make your world a better place.

5. It’s your experiences that will help you succeed.

6. Do not let go of an opportunity to make a positive difference in someone’s life. They will pay it forward in multiples.

7. You start off working hard but the sooner you start working smart, the better you will fare.

8. If you are not enjoying what you are doing, stop, breathe, and evaluate.

What are you most excited about now that you're a part of the Credera team?

These are exciting times to be at Credera. Having witnessed phenomenal growth in the recent past with bright prospects in the future, the possibilities are limitless.
