Would Your Neighborhood School Receive a Passing Grade?

Have you ever wondered what grade your child’s school would receive if given a report card? Would this information be helpful when determining where to live or what schools your children should attend? As an employer, are you curious to know if your future employees are prepared for the workforce and college? Colorado Succeeds and Credera have created a web tool that grades schools throughout the state of Colorado from public elementary schools up to high schools.

“Every parent can relate to grades A through F. We’re not changing inputs, just translating in a way that is clear,” Tim Taylor, Colorado Succeeds President, told the Denver Post. Until now, the task of sorting through data to determine a school’s strengths and weaknesses was very cumbersome. Colorado Succeeds had a vision to compile the data given by the Colorado Department of Education and translate the data into grades A-F for each school across the state. Grades are based on several factors: student proficiency, gaps in growth, and academic group.

Credera designed, developed and deployed the English and Spanish ColoradoSchoolGrades.com to allow parents, educators, and businesses to view a school’s grade while comparing that school to other schools in a community. Another great feature for parents and community leaders is a “take action” section where they can dialogue and ask questions about how to get involved to improve schools. “Credera is a true partner in every sense of the word.
