LeisureLink*, a leading vacation rentals booking service, makes renting properties simple. By leveraging best-in-class online connectivity tools and the industry’s largest distribution network, LeisureLink enables vacation properties to connect to top online travel channels like Expedia, Booking.com, Airbnb, etc. The online platform allows suppliers to manage all their listings and complex accounting from one unified platform – optimizing rates, availability, specials, content changes.
In 2014, after the acquisition of three diverse companies, LeisureLink needed a strategy to migrate multiple different phone, email, and collaboration platforms, into a unified solution. LeisureLink engaged Credera to optimize their internal communication systems in time for one of LeisureLink’s busiest seasons—ski season.
Credera began by leading a discovery phase to fully understand the four companies’ phone, email, and collaboration tools and systems. This due-diligence allowed Credera to create a reliable strategy for migration and ensure the new architecture would be stable, secure, and scalable. The strategy and roadmap included product recommendations for phone platforms (e.g., ShoreTel Connect CLOUD), email (e.g., Office365) and collaboration (e.g., Lync Online, Yammer Enterprise, and SharePoint Online) as well as an aggressive plan to complete the migration in less then three months.
After creating a clear road map, Credera then planned and executed LeisureLink’s Exchange 2010 migration to Office 365. This included the integration of two Active Directory forests and three separate mail platforms. While merging corporate email was critical, it was also important to integrate booking communications from several LeisureLink owned and white labeled websites. Because authentication was required by each individual website manager in order to migrate the booking communications, the Credera team coordinated with each individual to make it happen. In addition, Credera implemented the enterprise collaboration features of Office 365 including Lync Online and Yammer Enterprise.
LeisureLink now has the tools and capability to work together—regardless of location—efficiently and collaboratively.
“Right now we are doing between 100 and 120 deployments a day. The genesis of that capability is what Credera came in and helped us achieve,” said Myron Schram, Chief Technology Officer, LeisureLink.
- Increased efficiency – By implementing best-in-class, cloud-based technologies (e.g. Yammer, Skype for Business, Office365, and ShoreTel Connect CLOUD) and consolidating Active Directory across the previously disjointed parts of the business, LeisureLink employees enabled to communicate and collaborate regardless of where they were in the country.
- Improved knowledge management – Implementation of SharePoint Online enabled employees to collaborate and securely share important documents in the cloud.
- Zero Downtime – Throughout the migration, the Credera team carefully transferred all email and contact history as they update employees to the new platform. The email migration was completed without any impact to the business or individual employees.
- Rapid Migration – The complicated migration was completed in under three months and under budget in time for LeisureLink’s busiest season.
