Red Lobster is the largest seafood restaurant chain in North America with over 700 locations across the United States and Canada. Red Lobster generates in excess of $2.4 billion in revenue annually across their in-restaurant and ecommerce channels.​ They wanted to increase revenue through enhanced digital capabilities, so they engaged Credera for a website redesign.

The Challenge

Improving digital customer engagement.

Red Lobster wanted to increase revenue through enhanced digital capabilities so they engaged Credera to build a new online ordering user interface for RedLobster.com, refresh their mobile application, and integrate with a new loyalty provider to enhance their rewards program.

The Solution

Designing a mobile-first online ordering interface.

Credera designed and implemented a highly intuitive, mobile-first online ordering interface within RedLobster.com, increasing overall site traffic and optimizing key ordering flows​. Credera integrated the new RedLobster.com front-end solution with multiple back-end technologies to streamline customer accounts, perform order fulfillment, and improve menu interaction​.

Additionally, Credera integrated RedLobster.com with a third-party loyalty solution to enable customers to earn points and redeem rewards for orders placed on RedLobster.com​

Credera also refreshed the My Red Lobster Rewards mobile application to improve online ordering conversion, loyalty capabilities, and app usability.

Increased online ordering revenue​

Online ordering sales grew by 20% year-over-year as a result of a growth in number of orders (up 18%) and average order value (up 3%) once the new ordering interface was released​.

Enabled data-driven customizations​

By replacing a rigid legacy front-end, Red Lobster is now positioned to continue enhancing their online ordering capabilities by using site analytics to make data-driven decisions on additional functionality and features to drive online ordering on RedLobster.com.​

Streamlined loyalty program​

By adding loyalty features to RedLobster.com and streamlining the user experience across platforms, Red Lobster customers can now seamlessly engage with the My Red Lobster Rewards program from a browser or the mobile app.
