A few weeks ago we had an opportunity to invest in our communities together. Credera employees served local Dallas, Denver, and Houston communities during the third annual Credera Service Day. This company-wide initiative offered approximately 200 Credera employees, including our terrific interns, the opportunity to engage in meaningful volunteer activities supporting World Vision’s North Texas Storehouse, The Boys and Girls Club of Metro Denver, and The Houston Food Bank.

It’s amazing what can happen when people work together! During Credera’s thoughtfully planned Service Day, resources and food were carefully prepared for those most in need.

Over 30,000 lives were impacted!

2015 Credera Service Day impact:

  • Over 2,400 Food Kits assembled—12,000 people served nutritious meals

  • More than 2,100 Disaster Relief Kits packed—helping 4,200 people affected by the recent flooding in Texas

  • 760 backpacks donated and filled with school supplies for children in need

  • Over 5,300 thoughtful, handwritten notes written to encourage those in need

  • Cleaned, restocked and organized World Vision’s Teacher Resource Center—5,400 teachers and kids reached

  • Organized the World Vision Community Resource Center—7,500 people impacted

  • 300 children sponsored for a day of educational activities and lunch

  • 50 children taught healthy eating habits during an “Iron Chef” workshop

  • Over 500 meals prepared for the hungry

“I felt beyond blessed as an intern to be included as a member of the Credera team, serve along side new friends, and take part in something greater than ourselves,” said Andrew Chepey, Credera intern. “The kind of impact we were able to make by giving our time, resources, and efforts is something that I never expected when coming on board this summer!”

“As leaders of Credera, our hope is to make sustained, meaningful and positive differences in the communities where we live. Credera Service Day is one way we meet this goal while inspiring our co-workers to lives of service,” said David Dobat, Credera Vice President. “For employees who already serve in a similar capacity, we hope the Service Day just reinforces what they are already about. For those who are new to service, we hope this day acts as a catalyst toward a life of serving others.”

2015 Selected Charities:

World Vision is a Christian humanitarian organization dedicated to working with children, families, and their communities worldwide to reach their full potential by tackling the causes of poverty and injustice. The World Vision Dallas Storehouse focuses their work in some of our Dallas area’s most distressed and under-served communities, where poverty is high and opportunities are limited. Additionally they respond to disasters that occur all over the United States.

The mission of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro Denver is to inspire and enable young people, especially those who need it most, to realize their full potential as productive, responsible, and caring citizens. Sixteen safe, positive neighborhood centers and a residential summer camp provide after school, weekend, and summer programs for young people between the ages of 6 and 18.

The Houston Food Bank is leading the fight against hunger in Houston, Texas. As a member of the nation’s largest non-governmental, domestic hunger relief organization – Feeding America – the Houston Food Bank strives to make food accessible to hungry people in their greatest times of need.
