The Dallas TechFest 2008 event was held this past Saturday at the Addison Conference and Theatre Center. Some 500+ technologists came to hear presentations covering Java, .NET, Flex, Ruby and Emerging Technologies.
Dallas TechFest was an all-day event, with 25 sessions split over five technical tracks: Java, .NET, Flex, Ruby and Emerging Technologies. Speakers at the event were recognized experts in their respective fields and came from locations throughout North America. Credera was well represented, providing two speakers and also helping sponsor the event.
Credera Senior Architect Kelly Tisdell gave a presentation in the Java track titled, “Using JBoss Seam to build enterprise web applications with EJB3, JSF, and JPA.” Kelly started by introducing the audience to JBoss Seam and its enabling technologies (EJB3 and JPA), then he focused on how using Seam makes JSF development better.
Vikalp Jain, Architect at Credera, delivered his presentation “Developing native applications for the iPhone,” under the Emerging Technology track. Vik’s talk first focused on when to write native iPhone applications over web-based applications. Then Vik covered how to develop an iPhone application, focusing on the iPhone user experience. He finished his presentation covering how you distribute iPhone applications.
